Description: Sculptra™ is an injectable treatment that gradually stimulates the body’s own collagen to smooth lines and wrinkles, provides more volume in hollowing areas and lifts sagging areas. The result is a fuller, lifted, younger looking face. Once the treatment plan is complete (normally 3-4 months from the first treatment) the results can last for 3 years.
Procedure: after a free consultation and assessment with Dr Crockett, an appointment is made for the first treatment where the product is gently injected into particular areas of the face. It appears to work immediately because of the fullness from the water used to dilute the Sculptra™. In a few days though, the water is absorbed by your body and you may look as you did before the treatment. Common reactions such as swelling, redness and sometimes bruising should be expected all of which normally disappear within 2-3 days. Clients must massage the area daily for a subsequent month and full instruction will be given. Sculptra™ takes about 6-8 weeks to produce visible results at which time Dr Crockett will see you again to assess the need for a further 1 or 2 treatment sessions.
Safety:The main ingredient in Sculptra™ has been used in medicine for over 25 years and has a good safety profile. There is a lot of evidence based data on the effectiveness and safety of Sculptra™. No allergy testing is required before treatment.
Duration: Clinical studies have shown results from Sculptra™ can last for up to 3 years making it very cost effective.
